Dunedin Midwinter Carnival
Sun, 05/09/2010 | by The Dunedin Difference TeamOn June 26th over 5,000 spectators will swarm Dunedin’s city centre to watch a spectacular Lantern Procession to celebrate the longest night and shortest day.
This year the Lantern Procession, the highlight of the Dunedin Midwinter Carnival, is in its’ 11th year and has a ‘Creatures of the Sea’ theme. Spectators will be enchanted by a glowing stream of over 700 people, 250 hand-made lanterns, 10 giant lanterns, costumed dancers, stilt walkers, musicians, and fire-works.

Dunedin Summer Festival
Sun, 01/24/2010 | by The Dunedin Difference TeamSummerFun '09 kicks off on Saturday 24 January at 9.15am in the Octagon when Dunedin's own Rally New Zealand driver Emma Gilmour joins Mayor Peter Chin to start the 55th Dunedin to Brighton Veteran Car Club Run.
With a programme of over 30 events taking place from 24 January through until the end of February there is something for everyone.
