No other hotel is more inextricably linked to Dunedin’s heritage than the Scenic Hotel Southern Cross. Its proud history dates back to 1883 when the original Grand Hotel, which stood on the same site, was widely regarded as one of the southern hemisphere’s finest guesthouses.

The original hotel has been completely refurbished and is now home to the boutique Dunedin Casino. Much of the original architecture remains to this day. This building adjoins three modern hotel wings that form today’s Scenic Hotel Southern Cross.
